Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates features text commentary of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , after recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the number of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing extra defenders but they might position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly and new RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay on the field for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
