Trio Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.
The event will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
