The Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form According to the Astrological Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the fandom. From the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions before the title's release, to players developing firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique designs that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? This list is inspired by a blend of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, known for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a devoted Bull, the steadfast Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to collect it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of gossip to those who wish to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's very simple to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to foresee an opponent's future actions, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for often getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also known for its capability to make a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Leo brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign famous for being endearingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this creature's whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted face that’s just like the symbol a Virgo posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. As a Sagittarius myself, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “playful small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless memes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
