Iran Claims Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
