Ex- BBC Advisers Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry After Assertions of Partiality in Unauthorized Memo
We open with questions from Conservative lawmaker the panel's head, that oversees the panel.
She opens by giving context to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning in any particular direction, My only wish is for it straight, impartial and equitable," he states.
Upon being questioned if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is exceptional - including factual and non-factual content."
However, he continues: "There is significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."
A further ex-adviser BBC specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it operates a "continuous process and active debate" regarding evolving and intricate topics.
"Was the BBC ready to have a proper conversation and argument and take action?" she reflects. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
