Everyday tennis enthusiasts are being offered an opportunity to earn A$1m when they compete against world-class athletes - featuring top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz - in a single-point showdown before January's Australian Open

Event planners of the year's first Grand Slam have revealed the $1 Million Single-Point Tournament, which will pit everyday competitors against top-ranked players in a knockout tournament at the Australian Open venue

How the Competition Operates

Participants must play 'the classic hand game' to determine who serves or receives, and the competitor securing the point will move forward to the following stage

The champion of the event will receive approximately half a million pounds

Contextually, players who advanced to the final four of the primary tournaments in the 2025 Australian Open won A$1.1m

Past Comparable Tournaments

The American Grand Slam staged a redesigned, independent mixed doubles tournament in the eighth month which prompted top singles players to take part, with the victors receiving $1m

Entry Requirements
