American Armed Forces Conducts Lethal Attack in Pacific, Leading to 4 Deaths

According to a senior military official, the American military executed a lethal strike on a vessel in the eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of four people.

“A US joint task force conducted a deadly attack on a craft operated by a terrorist group in international waters. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was traveling along a established narco-trafficking route and was involved in illicit drug transport. All four male drug traffickers were killed, and no American forces were harmed.”

Context and Recent Actions

The statement follows a day after an announcement regarding a blockade of all targeted oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela. That statement on online platforms, the US president alleged Venezuela of using oil revenues to fund narcotics smuggling and criminal activities, pledging to escalate the military buildup.

Just on the previous day, US defense officials stated it had carried out strikes on three boats suspected of trafficking drugs in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Beginning on 2 September, over 20 military engagements have resulted in the deaths of at least 99 individuals, most off the coast of Venezuela.

Administration Defends Tactics Amid Pressure

The government has encountered growing demands to make public video of a 2 September vessel attack. However, officials have declined to do so. The administration has supported its campaign as a success, arguing it has stopped drugs from entering US shores and has pushed back on concerns that it is exceeding the bounds of lawful warfare.

While the administration has said the campaign is about stopping drugs destined for the US, comments from a top official appeared to confirm a wider political aim. In a recent interview, the senior advisor said the president “aims to keep on blowing boats up until Venezuela's president surrenders or concedes.”

This indicates the military campaign may be part of a strategy to remove Venezuela's current leadership.
